Health Maintenance
Below are some of the maintenance tests/procedures Dr. Deshmukh recommends for patients and how often they should be received:

Prevnar 13  Shots:   Patients over 65 who have not received a Pneumococcal Vaccine in the last  year
Pneumonia Shots: Over 65 patients should receive one dose after they turn 65, preferably 1 year after Prevnar given.
                                 Anyone with a chronic lung disease should receive a Pneumococcal Vaccine
Tetanus Shots: once every ten years (Medicare does not cover this service)
Pap Smears: Females 18-49 years old every year. 50-65 years old every 3 years
Mammograms: Females 40-49 years old every year. 50-75 every 2 years
Dexa Scan (Bone Density: Females over 55 once every 10 years. If you have a diagnosis of Osteoporosis one every 3 years
Diabetics:
                 Labs every 6 months
                 Eye Exam Yearly
                 Foot Exam Yearly
COPD/Asthma Patients: Pulmonary Function Test every year
COLONOSCOPY: over 50 years old every 10 years or as recommended by your gastroenterologist

These are recommended as are other studies. Please discuss with Dr. Deshmukh at your next visit so these can be scheduled and your chart updated.
